Before & Afters

After getting dermal filler injections, the treatment area will immediately appear more voluminous and smooth. While some results are visible right away, the full effect appears after a few days once any potential swelling diminishes. The longevity of results varies by individual and the type of filler used, but you can expect to enjoy your refreshed appearance for several months to a year or more.

Procedure

The dermal filler procedure is straightforward and relatively quick, typically lasting between 15 to 60 minutes. First, the treatment area will be cleaned, then your provider will use a fine needle or cannula to carefully inject the filler into the targeted areas. You may feel a slight pinch or pressure, but the process is generally well-tolerated. Today’s fillers are formulated with lidocaine, so there’s no need for a separate anesthetic.

Recovery

Immediately following the injections, you might notice some redness, swelling or bruising at the injection sites, which usually subsides within a few days. There’s no significant downtime, so you can return to most of your regular activities right away. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and excessive heat or sun exposure for the first 24-48 hours.

Follow-ups

A follow-up appointment may be scheduled to assess the results and ensure your satisfaction. Depending on the type of filler used and your body’s response, we might suggest maintenance treatments to prolong the effects of your rejuvenated appearance.

How Much Does Dermal Filler Cost?

How Often Do I Need to Get Touch-ups?

The frequency of your dermal filler maintenance treatments depends on several factors. First is the type of filler chosen for your initial procedure–fillers made from hyaluronic acid, for instance, tend to be absorbed by the body relatively quickly, with their effects usually lasting between 6 to 12 months. More robust fillers, such as those designed for deeper volume restoration or collagen stimulation, may offer results that last up to 18 months or longer. 

Your treatment area also plays a crucial role in determining the longevity of your results. Lip filler, for example, is metabolized more quickly than filler used elsewhere in the face, because the lips experience more movement.
